In fact, the term vindaloo comes from the Portuguese phrase ‘carne de vinha d’alhos’, meaning a Portuguese meat dish of pork marinated in wine and garlic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, take your time. Heal from the shock. South India’s favourite filter “kaaphi” actually originated in Yemen. It was discovered by Sufi saint Baba Budan on a pilgrimage to Mecca.
