Tofu: The Not So Scary Meat Substitute

Tofu: The Not So Scary Meat Substitute

Tofu is an amazing food. It’s healthy, versatile, and delicious. It is one of my favourite foods to cook with. But for some reason, there’s a lot of stigma surrounding tofu, making it seem like it’s not something most people would want to eat. However, this isn’t true at all!

It is easy and fun to cook with—and when it comes right down to it, the process only takes five minutes or less.

You can make it taste any way you want.

Tofu is a blank canvas, so it can be seasoned any way you want. When you buy it, you can add many types of flavourings and marinades to make your food taste amazing. You can bake, fry, grill or sautee tofu to make it taste like chicken. It also works great in soups and stews, pizza and sandwiches, or even as an egg substitute in baking recipes!

It’s versatile.

Tofu is bland but versatile food. You can use it in many different ways, and it always tastes good. Tofu- cheese is great for stir-fries because you can add any sauce or marinade to it that you want! It can also be used in curries, soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts (try making this chocolate mousse with tofu). If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to eggs in baking recipes – try using soft tofu- cheese instead of eggs! Or, if you’re trying to cut down on meat consumption – there are tons of ways that tofu can replace meat (try these meatless tacos).

It’s healthy.

Tofu is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. It’s high in protein, calcium, iron and vitamins B1, B2, and E. It also contains all eight essential amino acids (the building blocks of proteins), which makes it a complete source of protein – meaning that you don’t have to combine it with other foods to get your daily requirement. One serving has 12 grams of protein which is equivalent to six eggs or 1 lb of ground beef!

Another benefit is that tofu contains no cholesterol or saturated fat, unlike most animal products like meat or dairy products. This makes it a healthy alternative for those trying to reduce their intake of these types of food sources to reduce their risk factors for heart disease and stroke, as well as lower their risk factors for developing cancer.

Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed learning about tofu and are inspired to use it in your own cooking. It’s a versatile food that can be used in many different ways, making it an exciting ingredient for your next meal creation!

We know that eating healthy can sometimes seem like a challenge, but with the right approach (and maybe some help from us), we think anyone can do it. And hey—if you weren’t convinced about how awesome tofu is, now you have more reasons than ever!
